The Initiative for Social Impact and Sustainable Development (ISISD) is aimed at engendering development initiatives for the good of the society, especially to fosters cross-cutting development agenda and right-based sustainable development initiatives to advance the cause of the boy/girl child, women and developmental concerns affecting youths, PWDs and humanity in general.
Using social advocacy skills and media communications tools to advance social change, ISISD is involved in strategic and collaborative partnership interventions aimed at advancing development initiatives that cross-cuts Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and social impact concerns in the area of economic empowerment, poverty reduction, improvements in the provision of social amenities in health, education, water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), environmental/climate changes issues and/or other development concerns affecting women/children and humanity in general.
ISISD also engenders social impact and sustainable development agenda that includes digital and multi-media ICT skills acquisition, human capital and capacity training, good governance and policy engagement, advocacy/roundtable discourse on sustainable development issues as well as media publicity/sensitisation programmes and related initiatives, etc.
At the core of the mandate of ISISD is a social development drive and passion to engender deliverables of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fostering interventions to ameliorate poverty conditions, especially concerning the boy/girl child, women/youths and creating the interconnections to advance development concerns for the betterment of the society and humanity in general.
One of the flagship programme of ISISD is about safeguarding girls from all forms of Gender-based Violence (GBV) through sensitisation, advocacy and digital-driven 'say NO to GBV'multimedia campaign. The activities of ISISD, beyond social advocacy & socio-economic development endeavours include implementing commemorative activities for the International Day of the Girl-Child, the World Day of the Boy Child (WDBC), commemorating the International Womens’ Day event, supporting initiatives of the International Mens Day, as well as facilitating mentoring and digital/multi-media and ICTs skills training session for children and adolescents under the Summer skills sessions, among others.
ISISD is registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with CAC Certificate of incorporation reg no: 186948.
